BELLVILLE: Herbert R. “Herb” Walter, 60, of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, died Monday afternoon April 7, 2003 in Fort Myers Beach, Florida following an apparent heart attack.

Now at rest with his Savior, Herb was born April 28, 1942 in Mansfield, and was graduated from Butler High School in 1961.

A Bellville resident before moving to Florida 25 years ago, Herb had worked at both Ideal Electric and King Office Supply.

Always the free spirit, he came into his element following his move to Florida. He loved time spent at the beach, or opportunities to go boating, and could often be found repairing engines at nearby marinas.

Herb had worked as a heating, cooling and roofing contractor, and was a member of Veterans of America in Fort Myers, Florida and was a member of Moose Lodge #964 and a social member of American Legion Post # 274 both in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

He is survived by his father Raymond E. Walter of Bellville; his brother and sister-in-law Douglas G. and Debbie Walter of Mount Gilead; his sister and brother-in-law Anita L. and Don Ryan of Bellville; niece and nephews Jennifer Ryan of Hartford, Connecticut, Tim and Teresa Ryan of Strongsville and Todd Walter of Akron.

His mother Margaret M. Reiner Walter preceded him in death on March 30, 1995.

Friends may call Saturday April 12, 2003 from 1-3 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will follow at 3 pm. Pastor Michael Workman will officiate. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Caesarea Church may be made at the funeral home.
