Herbert A. Barnes

April 24, 1953 ‒ July 06, 2016

Delaware, Ohio

Herbert A. Barnes, age 63 of Delaware died unexpectedly at home Wednesday, July 6, 2016.

Born on April 24, 1953 in Delaware, he was a graduate of Buckeye Valley High School in 1971. The lifelong area resident was a truck driver for 40 years, retiring from Henderson Trucking in 2014. He also drove for Stover’s Trucking as well as Sam Loos and Evans Farms.

He was a member of Delaware Moose, VFW Post #3297, and AMVETS Post #102. Herb was a fan of the Brown’s, Buckeye Football, and NASCAR. Easygoing in nature, he was easy to talk with and looked forward to good conversation with anyone who would listen. A testament to his many friendships or buddies as he would say; he will be remembered simply as a good friend, loving father, son, and brother.

He is survived by those whom he loved; daughter Michelle “Misha” Barnes (Graham Tucker) of Columbus, mother Helen (Bohem) Barnes of Prospect, sisters Sharon (Larry) VanBrimmer of Delaware, Betty Barnes of Ft. Wayne, IN, and countless friends.

Herb was preceded in death by his father Paul Barnes.

Friends may call  4-7 p.m. on Monday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr., Delaware where services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date in Radnor Cemetery.
