Henry E. Desrochers, 97, died Friday morning May 14, 2010 at Countryview of Sunbury.
Born on September, 18, 1912 in Duluth, Minnesota to the late Albert and Annie Desrochers. A retired laborer for the Saco Cotton Mill in Saco, Maine and a WWII US Army Veteran. A former member of the VFW in Columbus.
Henry had a way about him to make people happy. He enjoyed bowling with his step-son and over the past 10 years, he loved playing cards with all of his friends at the Columbus Colony. When there were family holiday parties, Henry was always there to add his warm smile and tell his grandchildren tales of when he was young and where he served overseas during the war.
Survived by step-son: William (Elaine) Hanawalt of Sunbury and Son-in-law: James Cooperrider of Croton; 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wives: Emily and Pauline; daughter: Karolee Cooperrider.
A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday June 3, 2010 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 State Route 37 E., Sunbury, Ohio 43074 with rev. Fr. David Sizemore celebrant. Inurnment will follow in the Hartford Cemetery.
