Helen M. Crunkilton, age 88, of Mount Vernon passed away Sunday morning, May 24, 2015 at her home surrounded by her caring family. She was born August 23, 1926 in Youngwood, PA daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kacvinsky) Kochis.

Helen was a faithful member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by her husband, Donald E. Crunkilton, whom she married on April 5, 1949; sons, Stephen (Verle) Crunkilton of Butler, John (Rhonda) Crunkilton of Butler, Daniel (Susan) Crunkilton of Las Vegas, and Joseph (Michele) Crunkilton of Butler; daughters, Patricia Ann (Jack) Carpenter of Mount Vernon, Nancy Weiss of Mount Vernon, Rosemary Helmick of Fredericktown, Debra (Chuck) Duncan of Fredericktown and Kathy (Kip) Cole of Butler; 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Italiano of Mount Vernon.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a son, Paul; sisters, Agnes Tims, Elizabeth Walsh, Catherine Sakala; and brothers, Steve, Michael, Jake and John Kochis.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon.  The Rosary will be recited following the visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as the Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School, 206 East Chestnut St., Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.
