Helen L. Gallogly, age 86 of Marengo passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at her home.

She was born on April 10, 1931 in Delaware County the daughter of the late Douglas and Estella (Myers) Baughman of Marengo.

Helen was a lifelong member of the Sunbury and Marengo area.  She attended the Sunbury School.

She was married to Kenneth E. Gallogly on October 8, 1949 in Blueridge, Kentucky.  They were married for 68 years before his passing in October of 2017.  Together they were members of the Chesterville United Methodist Church for 56 years and the Wayne Grange #262.  She was an active member of the church’s UMW,

She loved to read, do word searches, sing, sew, and watch old shows on TV. She loved time with all the little children.

She is survived by her children Gary E. (Brenda K. Shock) of Fredericktown, Sarah Mae (William M. “Bill”) Storer of Cardington, Rick R. (Christine M. Caldwell) of Marengo, Rebecca S. (Billy Jr.) Miller of Bellefontaine, and James A. (Deborah Guden) of Charlotte, North Carolina; brothers Richards (Kathy Storer) of Cardington and Robert (June) Baughman of Marengo; sisters Ruth Baughman of Mt. Gilead, Geneva Johnson of Sunbury; brothers-in-law Marvin (Vivian) Gallogly of Westerville and Robert (Helen) Metzger of Heath; grandchildren Lance, Brady, Patty, Michael, Carina, Dominick, Raniya, Cobee, Jennifer, Kimberly, Andrea, Garrett, Galen, Shadrick, Stephanie, Cheryle, Steve, and Bobby; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers James, Homer, Raymond, and Ralph; sisters-in-law Helen Metzger and Loretta Gallogly; brother-in-law Harold Gallogly; son-in-law William “Bill” Storer; grandson Caleb Robert Gallogly; daughter-in-law Brenda (Shock) Gallogly; and nephew Johnnie Ray Baughman.

Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 5-8 PM at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074.  Funeral services will be held there on Thursday at 10:30 AM.  Burial will follow at 12:30 PM at Mount Vernon Memorial Garden.

  • Gary, Sarah, Rick, Becky, and James, we were so very sorry for the loss of your Mother. she sure was a one of a kind lady. We have such great memories of her at church and her willingness to always be ready to help in any way she was able. She will be missed so very much! She always told us she loved us every time we saw her and we told her we loved her! Helen it was a privilege to have know you and be your friend. She even told me Emma when my Mother died that she would be me and my siblings Mother because she always loved us like a Mother. Love You Helen and will really miss you. Until we meet again Love You!   • Sorry to hear of your loss. I have fond memories when we lived just Dow the road and in the evening we would play kickball in the drive and then go in the house to watch Star Trek. Those were so must fun. Helen always kept us supplies with something cool to drink. Prayers for the family.
