Helen J. Smith, age 78 of Delaware passed away Monday evening, March 15, 2010 at Delaware Court Healthcare Center surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 14, 1931 in Plain City to the late George R. and Minnie E. (Temple) Sesler. Originally from the Columbus area, she moved to Delaware in 1998. Helen retired in 1993 from Riverside Hospital, where she worked as a Central Service Technician.

Though private in nature, first and foremost she was a proud mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching birds and animals, as well as taking care of the cats of her neighborhood. Always concerned for others, she will be remembered for her tender caring ways and steadfast love of family.

She leaves to treasure her memory daughters: Karen (Bob) Lohning, Debra (Jim) Hatfield all of Delaware, son: Dennis (Cindy) McNulty of Powell, grandchildren: Tracy (Ty) Breese, Kyle McNulty, Kimberly (Andrew) Loy, Colin McNulty, Melissa (Scott) Hatten, great-grandchildren: Sydney, Lauren Breese, Parker Loy, sisters: Donna (Gene) Wilson of London, Emily (Joseph) Holland of Speedway, IN.

Preceded in death by her husband of 28 years: Onie Smith, who died on Feb. 1, 2006, brothers: John, George, Kermit, Kenneth, and James Sesler. Four of her brothers were albino including twins a fact which put her family in the Guinness Book of Records.

Friends may call Thursday 5-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware where services will be 11:00 am Friday with Pastor Jasper Marcum officiating, interment Kingwood Memorial Garden.
