Heather R. Sweitzer, 34, of Niles passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown after a sudden illness.

Born March 30, 1982 in Galion, she was the daughter of John R. and Roxann (Reeks) Ramsey. She married Jason Sweitzer on September 10, 2011 and he survives.

She was a graduate of Galion High School in 2000 and formerly attended St. Mark United Methodist Church in Galion. Heather worked at the former Ontario Kmart, the Ontario Walmart and the Madison Day Care Center. She previously worked at DK’s Drive In in Galion. Heather was very talented and loved to do crafts and paint. Everyone knew her as an avid Ohio State Fan.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by sister Stacy (Shawn) Newton of Mansfield; grandmother Vivian Jordan of Zephyrhills, Florida; niece Sydney Newton; nephew Zach Newton; parents-in-law Bruce (Linda) Sweitzer; brother-in-law Justin (Emily) Sweitzer; sister-in-law Julee Sweitzer and paternal grandparents-in-law Roger and Betty Callahan.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. As Heather would have wanted, all are invited to wear their favorite scarlet and gray outfits. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 with Pastor Jerry Penrod officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to Steubenville Community Center for the Deaf for Fire Alarms in care of the funeral home.
