LUCAS: Heather J. Hollis Altman, 33, of Sylvan Drive, Lucas, died Monday, February 13, 2006 in the Cleveland Clinic, following a brief and tragic illness.

She was born in Mansfield on February 12, 1973 to Philip and Mary Tyler Hollis and was graduated from Clear Fork High School with the class of 1991.

Heather, who has always kept a very special place in her heart for animals, was the founder and director of Kats-N-Kittens Adoption and Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing shelter, medical care, and homes for lost, abandoned, or abused cats and kittens. She dedicated her heart and soul to the organization.

Heather was blessed with a twinkle in her eyes and a smile that could light up a room. She was full of love for all creatures, great and small, humans and animals alike.

She accomplished more in her short 33 years than most others can claim. She demonstrated to all those who came in contact with her how to love unconditionally, with a pure heart.

She is survived by her loving husband John Altman, whom she married October 30, 1998, their son Gavin Navarre Altman who was born December 31, 2005, her parents Philip and Mary Tyler Hollis of Jensen Beach, Florida, brother Kristian Hollis, Tech Sgt. USAF, grandmother Jean Hollis of Port St. Lucie, Florida, mother-in-law and father-in-law Debbie and Marty Altman of Butler, and dear friends Cheryl Jarvis, treasurer of Kats-N-Kittens, Stephanie and David Colledge, Linda Gassaway, and Deb Miller.

Friends may call Saturday, February 18, 2006 from 5-7 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where a memorial gathering will be held at 7 pm.
