Hazel M. Fagan, age 81, of Sunbury passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Riverside Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 6, 1930 in Columbus to the late Chester and Hazel (Daniels) Markham. She retired from Ranco, where she worked as a assembler. Always jolly and friendly in nature, Hazel went out of her way to help others. She often shared her home baked goodies with friends and neighbors. Hazel enjoyed working puzzles, needlepoint, and bowling in her younger years. She attended Sunbury United Methodist Church and treasured time spent with family and her grandchildren.

She is survived by son: Chester (Lydia) Hickey, daughter: Deborah (Charles) Guiler, granddaughter: Dawn Armentrout (fiancé Chris Sarjeant), great grandson: C. J. Armentrout, Brother: Chet (Juanita) Markham, Sisters: Betty Flesch, Sara Saunders, Stella (Ron) Icenhower, Sisters-in-law: Harriett O’Farrell, JoEllen (Larry) Hughes, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by husband of 57years: Robert in 2008, grandson: Chad Hickey in 2002, and sisters: Ruth Wheeland, Dean Collins, and Mary Burns.

Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Tuesday 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Smith officiating, burial will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
