Dr. Harry Y. C. Wong, age 93, of Sunbury, died Thursday morning at his residence.

He was born on October 23, 1916 in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii. A resident of Sunbury for the last 7 years coming from Silver Springs, Maryland. Member of the Seventh Day Adventist Hill Church in Mount Vernon. He received his PHD from University of Southern California. A retired professor at Howard University where he did extensive research on heart disease related to cholesterol. He was also instrumental in developing the cholesterol free egg substitute.

Harry was a WWII US Army Air Corp Veteran and also a retired Lt. Colonel with the US Air Force Reserves. Harry was an avid reader and a ham radio operator.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mabel (Liu) Wong of Sunbury, sons: William James Wong of N. Bethesda, Maryland, Donald (Lisa) Wong of West Minster, Maryland; daughter: CarolJean (Bruce) Hastilow of Sunbury; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; half sister: Dorothy Muraoka of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by brothers Richard and Howard; sister Hazel Wong.

Private services were held for the family and inurnment will take place at a later date.
