Harold William Dailey, age 76, of Woodberry Drive, Mount Vernon, died Tuesday February 18, 2003 at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on October 8, 1926 in Mount Vernon to the late James and Susan Marie (Breece) Dailey. Mr. Dailey was self-employed as a general contractor. He was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, Ohio Contractors Association, the Carpenters Local #2280, Kokosing Valley Antique Tractor Club and was a former member of Kiwanis of Mount Vernon. Mr. Dailey served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Edna (Mills) Dailey, three sons, Richard Dailey of Mount Vernon, Kevin Dailey of Valrico, Florida, Barry (Sue) Dailey of Howard, three grandchildren, Amy Dible, Matt Dailey, Carrie Tiller, five great grandchildren, Amber and Brittney Tiller, Michael and Christopher Durst and Annalise Dailey and a sister-in-law Joan Dailey

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Cecil Dailey and a sister Grace Kulka.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home where friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 PM and one hour prior to the service. Rev. Rod Buchanan will be officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.
