Harold R. Aspery Sr., 88, of Delaware died Tuesday evening at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was born November 17, 1920 in Morrow County to Harry and Blanche Marie (Parr) Aspery. He was a World War II veteran who had worked 15 years for Sellkirk Metal Bestos and another 20 years for American Standard. He had been a resident of Delaware since 1992 and was a member of the Pathway Church of God. In his earlier years he enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by 2 sons, H. Robert “Bobby” (Jane) Aspery Jr. of Blacklick and James (Pat) Aspery of Obetz; 3 daughters, Rebecca (James) Wilson of Lancaster, Ellen Jean (Roger) Howard of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lela (Steve) Ranour of Lancaster; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Paul, David, and Gene, all of Delaware; 2 sisters, Betty Murphy of Delaware and Helen Lingo of Marengo; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Charlotte Rose, 2 grandchildren, 3 brothers Richard, Gerald, and Harry, and a sister Mary. The family will receive friends today (Thursday August 27th) from 5 – 8 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware and where funeral services will be held on Friday August 28th at 11:00 am.
