Harold Fulk

MANSFIELD: Harold Victor Fulk, 91, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law after a short illness.

Born March 27, 1926 in Ashland, Ohio he was the son of Scott and Mabel (Thompson) Fulk and graduated from Union High School.  He married the love of his life Shirley Pauley on September 10, 1960 and spent the next 55 years together until her passing in 2015.

Harold served in the Army Air Corp during WWII as a pilot in Germany.  He stood in the crow’s nest and attended the Nuremburg trials.  He retired from Mansfield Tire and went on to retire from Grant Elementary school in Ashland.  He was loved by all of the children who called him Grandpa.  He enjoyed golfing and bowling with his wife.

He is survived by brothers Herbert and Lester (Melinda) Fulk and sister Joan Remy; brother-in-law Chuck Ritter and sisters-in-law Mary Fulk and Evelyn Fulk; children Michael (Cheryl) Fulk, Gretchen (David) Bond, and David (Stacey) Fulk; grandchildren Benjamin (Rebecca) Koehler of Mesa AZ, Matthew (Summer) Koehler of Mansfield, Autumn Fairbanks of Everett, WA, and Hailey Fulk of Lorain, and the light of his life his great grandchildren Izaak, Mikayla, and Emily; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Shirley he was preceded in death by his parents, brother Glenn Fulk, brother Donald Fulk, sister Norma Ritter, brother-in-law Bill Remy, and sister-in-law Peg Fulk.

Funeral services will begin at 12pm, Friday, November 3, 2017, at First Christian Church, where Harold was a member (200 West 3rd Street, Mansfield). His family will receive friends at the church the hour prior.  Reverend Greg Bibler will officiate.  Military honors will be performed on the church grounds.  Interment will be at a later date.

The Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is honored to assist the Fulk family with funeral services.  Memorial contributions to First Christian Church, Hospice of North Central Ohio, or the American Cancer Society may be made through the funeral home.
