Harold E. Pinyerd

Harold E. Pinyerd, 67, of Galion, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after a short illness.

Born May 30, 1943 in Galion, he was the son of the late LeRoy Pinyerd and Margaret Jackson Pinyerd. He married Phyllis Jones Pinyerd on March 28, 1964 and she survives.

He was a graduate of Caledonia High School in 1961 and enjoyed playing basketball and watching college basketball on television, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes. Harold enjoyed people, working and life in general. He was very particular about everything he did and raised his sons in the same way; his favorite saying was “think before you do”. Harold worked for 30 years for the former Peabody in Galion and previously worked as a farmer and managed the Tobias Fertilizer Warehouse.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kirk and Kathy Pinyerd of Galion and Mark and Vickie Pinyerd of Centerburg; four grandchildren, Kevin, Julie, Meegan and Hunter Pinyerd; one sister, Margaret “Marty” Estep of Galion and mother-in-law, Dorothy Jones of Galion.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kasey Pinyerd; one brother, Charles Pinyerd and father-in-law, Kenneth Jones.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, with Rev. Paul Walter officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
