Harold E. “Uncle Cover” Covrett, 83 of Delaware, died Saturday morning March 17, 2012 at Arbors of Delaware.

He was born on November 9, 1928 in Delaware County,, Ohio to the late Arthur and Florence (Johnston) Covrett. A retired drill press operator for Valves and Presses in Delaware with 30 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea.

Harold enjoyed playing cards especially euchre, poker and gin rummy. A gambler at heart he enjoyed the gambling boat, testing his luck with weekly lottery tickets and fishing on the banks of the Scioto River

He is survived by brother: Norman (Phyllis) Covrett of Delaware; sisters: Janet Jackson of Dublin, numerous nieces and nephews including caregivers: Carol and Alan Moder of Milford Center and Bob and Joyce Bradford of Delaware.

Preceded by his wife of 46 years: Margaret L. Covrett on October 12, 2009; siblings: Russell and Melvin Covrett, Marguerite Benedict, Carol Pharris, Opal Kroninger, Sandra Covrett, Millie Levings.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday 11:30 a.m. at Fairview Memorial Park in Delaware with Military Graveside Services by the Delaware County Veterans Association. Arrangements entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Delaware.
