Harlan “Schoonie” Schoonover Jr.

Harlan “Schoonie” Schoonover Jr., age 80 of Condit died at home Sunday, January 18, 2004.
He was born in Condit on April 23, 1923. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Betty (Fleck), parents Harlan and Hazel (Lane) Schoonover, brother Willard Schoonover, and sister Thelma Nuckles.
Schoonie was a retired carpenter and charter member of Sunbury Eagles, where he also served as maintenance person. He served as a civil service employee for the U.S. Navy and was sent to Pearl Harbor to help restore the damaged battleships following the Japanese attack. Known as an outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Willard, Robert, Thomas (Pinkie), Michael (Cindy), Debra (Ronald) Boggs, 7 Grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Friends may call Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will follow Wednesday 1:00 p.m., Pastor Roger Crego officiating, interment Trenton Cemetery.
