BELLVILLE: Hurley Ray Isbel of Bellville passed away Monday evening April 28, 2014 in OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital follow a short illness. He was 60.

Born July 27, 1953 in Mansfield, Ray was a lifelong area resident who grew up in the Lexington
Grace Brethren Church, helping build the current church building. He loved to fish and hunt, and mechanically could do anything on cars and engines – he loved to be busy in his home workshop.

He is survived by his life partner Laurie Kershner; his father Hurley P. Isbel of Bellville; a son Eric (Stacey) Isbel of Bellville; a daughter Linda (Kenny) Hootman of McCleary, WA, step daughter Jolene Sawdey of San Jose, CA; grandchildren Wyatt Isbel and Garrett Isbel both of Bellville and Khole Hootman of McCleary, WA; sister Helen (Bob) Reed of Lexington; sister-in-law Joela Sawdey of Bellville; nephews Terry (Brianne) Reed of Mansfield and Ryan Reed of Lexington; along with numerous friends and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his mother Katherine (Miihlbach) Isbel.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 4 pm in Lexington Grace Brethren
