H. Eileen Wagner, 81, of 327 Chesterville Road, Cardington, Ohio died Wednesday, January 21, 2004 in Morrow County Hospital.
She was born in Climax, Ohio on Feb. 28, 1922, the daughter of the late Frank J. and Mary A. Feigley Smith. She graduated from Edison High School in 1939. Eileen worked for Millers Dept. Store, Montgomery Ward, Kline Shoe Store, TODCO, and the Whirlpool Credit Union until retiring in 1972. She has resided in Mount Gilead, Marion and Cardington. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Cardington.
She is survived by a special friend Albert Denton of Cardington, Ohio; a son Larry (Diana) McCreary of Mount Gilead, Ohio; two daughters Carol (Tom) Simmons of Galion, Ohio, Diana (V. Joseph) Cook of Mount Gilead, Ohio; two step-sons Dr. Thomas Wagner of Marion, Ohio, and A. James Wagner of Virginia Beach, VA; a step-daughter Helen Barr of Marion, Ohio; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; and a brother Walter Smith of Galion, Ohio.
Her husband Dr. A.J. Wagner, a step-son William Wagner, two brothers Elmer and Howard Smith and two sisters Edna Carlough and Violet Rubach all preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the services. The Rev. John Jackson will conduct funeral services there Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery in Mount Gilead.
