Gypsie Lee Jones, 74, of Delaware died Sunday evening at Wintersong Village Nursing Home. He was born September 17, 1934 in Louisa, Kentucky to Monroe Thompson and Minnie Pearl (Rose) Thompson. She was assistant secretary for the Eagles Lodge #376 of Delaware for 20 years and a member of the Eagles Auxillary. She enjoyed flowers, reading, and collecting frogs and teapots. She is survived by a daughter, Bertha Jane Jones of Delaware; son, Guyla (Sylvia) Jones of Apple Valley, Ca.; stepson, Raymond Dana (Joan) Jones of Delaware; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brother, Samuel Thompson of Louisa, Ky.. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 1990, son Scott Dean Thompson, step daughter Onita Gail Gibson, brother Robert Thompson, 3 sisters Mary Ann, Faye, and an infant sister. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 – 8 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware and where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm. The family will then host a luncheon in the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home Community Room immediately following the services. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
