Greta M. Stricker, age 83, of Fredericktown passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on June 26, 1932 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Walter and Mary (Plumley) Leamon. Greta was employed at Berties Restaurant for numerous years. She was later employed at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center in Food Service and retired after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Fredericktown Church of the Nazarene. Greta was a fan of hockey and also the Cincinnati Reds. But most of all, she enjoyed the time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Eugene Stricker; three daughters, Debra (Butch) Wells, Linda Thompson, Dawn Stricker; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother Joe (Sandy) Leamon; and three sisters, Naomi (Harold) Jewett, Martha (Loren) Powers, and Joanne Patton.

In addition to her parents, Greta was preceded in death by her son Carl Stricker; one sister and four brothers.

Friends may call on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown from 5-7PM. A service will be held on Friday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11AM with Rev. Russ Gumm officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

    Stan and I just got back in town today (May 20) to see (MTV News) of Greta’s passing… and we also heard about Carl. We are so sorry to hear about such tragedy in your family. I am so sorry to have missed calling hours and all by just a few hours . Our families grew up together and Greta came to my salon for years, we were also neighbors…. our family feels your deep sorrow and hope your faith will give you strength to get through this sad time.
