Gregory Othel Williams, 48, of rural Galion, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011 at Marion General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born April 27, 1963 in Mansfield, Greg is survived by his mother, Kay Alkire Williams of Mansfield, his father and step-mother, Calvin and Kathy Williams of rural Galion; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Chris and Angela Merman of LaRue, Nathan Miller of Mansfield and Bryce Williams of Bucyrus; four sisters, Lisa Russ Noel of Cordova, Tenn., Bobbi Williams of Johnsville, Sue Riddle of St. Mary’s and Jenny Williams of Marion; one step-sister, Carolyn Dane Jones, of Marion and one step-brother, John Haupt of Marion.

Greg graduated from Marion Harding High School, was a U. S. Army veteran and loved to fish. He was a big sports fan and his favorite teams were the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He worked as an assembler at Whirlpool in Marion.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Fresh Faith Community Church, 4444 State Route 95, Mt. Gilead with Rev. T. J. McNew officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
