Glenn M. Darling

Glenn M. Darling, age 88, of Fredericktown, died Tuesday July 29, 2003 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born December 26, 1914, in Fredericktown, to William and Isabell (Morrison) Darling and had spent his lifetime in the Fredericktown area.
Mr. Darling was retired from the Westinghouse Corporation in Mansfield. He was a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church, was a life member and a 50-year member of Thrall Lodge #170 F.& A.M. in Fredericktown, a member and past Patron of Ann Hill Chapter Order of Easter Star in Fredericktown, a member of the Knights of Pythias and a life member of the Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon. Mr. Darling loved hunting and fishing and had served as a Boy Scout Troop Leader.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Glenn W. “Bill” and Mary Ann Darling of Mansfield; 2 grandchildren Elizabeth (Todd) Russell and Greg (Joy) Darling; 2 great grandchildren Adriana Russell and Griffin Darling and 2 sisters Beverly (Phillip) Edwards of Fredericktown and Patricia (Dean) Wells of Mansfield. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sara (Shotts) Darling, May 10, 2003, and his brother Laurel E. “Mutt” Morrison.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 PM until 7 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown where Thrall Lodge will observe a Masonic memorial service at 7 PM. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Draper officiating and burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
