Glen R. Foos, age 79, of Boundary Road in Edison, died on Thursday evening, March 9, 2006, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Glen was born in Marion County, Ohio, on July 10, 1926, the last son of the late Harley and Bertha (Hart) Foos.

In October of 1944, Glen entered the U. S. Army, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre in Japan. Upon returning from the Army, he worked for Tecumseh Products in Marion as a line inspector until their doors were closed in 1984.

During the late 1960’s and early 70’s, Glen volunteered for the Morrow County Fire Department for 12 years.

In July of 1978, Glen married his loving wife of 27 years, Eva (Ferguson Caskey) Foos.

Glen was a member of the Morrow County CB 74 Club, with the CB Handle “Lightbulb” and his wife Eva’s was “First Lady.” He was also a Ham Radio Operator with the call sign KHM2744, which he used when the American Red Cross needed assistance. He was also a life member of the American Legion Post 710 of Marengo, where he helped run bingo.

A knack for making wooden crafts, Glen enjoyed making signs, wall hangings, and tinkers. He also enjoyed fishing with his friend Paul, and riding his lawnmower to the post office.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-sons Richard “Rocky” (Amy) Caskey of Galion, and Brian (Zona) Caskey of Marion; grandchildren Brent, Brianna, Baylee, and Kristen; a sister Nellie Benge of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his first wife Marlee Foos, on August 6, 1975, and by several brothers and sisters.

The family will greet friends on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 South Main Street, Mount Gilead, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joe Blevins and Pastor Don Lockwood officiating. Burial with military honors by the Mount Gilead VFW and Am Vets Posts will follow at Rivercliff Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Rocky and Brian Caskey, George, James, and David Ferguson, Robert Albright and John Benge. Honorary pallbearers will be: Paul Darling, and Jerry and Joel Benge.
