Gertrude Roberts Trimble

Gertrude Roberts Trimble, age 76, of Delaware departed this life at 11:50 a.m., Wednesday afternoon, August 13, 2003 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

She was born on November 2, 1926, to the late William Virgil and Helena (Craig) Roberts in Delaware, Ohio. She was a devoted member of the Zion AME Church, participating as a Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer, Superintendent, member of the Trustee Board, Steward Board, Chairwoman of the Stewardess, President of the Willing Workers Auxiliary, and Associate of the Catharine Trimble Missionary Society. She even helped Habitat for Humanity build a home on Eaton St.

She was a graduate of Frank B. Willis High School Class of 1945. She worked for Ohio Wesleyan University as a mail processor until retiring and was also a homemaker.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years; Dwight Allen Trimble, her loving Sons; Dwight Allen, Jr. and Michael Aaron, Grandchildren; Stephanie, Erica, Shayla, Marvellious, and Jorian, Great-Grandsons; David and Logan; Sister-in-Law; Martha Trimble Jackson of Los Angeles, California, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brothers; James and Lawrence Roberts, Sisters; Geraldine Smith, Julia Wilson, Sara Lee Montgomery, and Catherine Scott, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a life long friend Christeen Banks.

Friends may call Friday 6-9 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion AME Church, with Rev. Harold Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
