Geraldine “Gerri” Ross

Geraldine “Gerri” Joyce Ross, 88, of Galena went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday afternoon, December 5, 2017 at Willowbrook Christian Village in Delaware.
She was born September 28, 1929 in Delaware County to the late Lowell Dean Nutter and Hazel (Temple) Nutter and later graduated from Willis High School. On January 15, 1956, she married Donald Richard Ross and they celebrated 44 years of marriage together. Sadly, Donald passed away in 2000.
A longtime Berlin Township resident, Gerri was a full-time wife, mother and homemaker and she sold Avon for many years. She loved the Lord, was a good Christian woman who lived her Christian values, and was an active and faithful member of the Orange Friends Church for many years. She also was a member of the Olentangy Senior Citizens, Park Avenue Senior Citizens, Gideons Auxillary and the Salvation Army Advisory Board. She was a charter member of the Berlin OCCSL since 1958 and former president of Senior Service for Independent Living.
Gerri was a kind, caring and social person who loved her family and many friends. She will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard “Rick” (Debbie) Ross and Melody (Dannie) Hearn; grandchildren, Matthew Ross Hearn, Rebecca “Becky” (Brian) Higgins and David Ross; brother, Larry Keith (Alicia) Nutter; dear friend, Ruth Backora and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gerri was also preceded in death by her brother Lowell Wendell Nutter.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5 – 8 pm at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware and one hour prior to the funeral services celebrating Gerri’s life on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Orange Friends Church, 3467 E. Orange Road, Lewis Center, OH with Pastor Jerry Wenger officiating. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery.
Contributions in Gerri’s memory may be made to the Gideons International, Salvation Army or Orange Friends Church.
