Gerald W. Wilson, age 40 of Mount Vernon, died Friday September 6, 2002 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident near Mount Vernon. Gerald was born February 21, 1962 in Mount Vernon and had spent most of his life in the Knox County area. He was employed at Unique Metal Products in Fredericktown where he was a supervisor in the paint department. Gerald had also been self employed as one of Mount Vernon’s finest auto body specialist for over 20 years.
Surviving are his three sons Samuel Louis Wilson, Timothy Allen Wilson and Douglas Allen Wilson all of Mount Vernon; his mother and step father Doris (Tablett) and Pete Hyatt of Fredericktown; his maternal grandmother Ellen A. Tablett of Silver Springs, Florida; two sisters Deborah Wilson and Tracy (Scott) Hines both of Fredericktown; a step brother Brian (Marie) Hyatt of Fredericktown and a step sister Lorie (Kenny) Davis of Mount Vernon; his long time girl friend Jenny Matthews of Mount Vernon; his niece Brittany Allison Hines; step niece Ashlyn Hyatt; and many aunts uncles cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father Gerald L. Wilson and 2 sisters Yvonne Hunt and Connie Harris; maternal grandfather Louis Harold Tablett and paternal grandparents William and Goldie Wilson.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 AM with Pastor Monte Vance officiating. Burial will be in Riley Chapel Cemetery.
