Gerald Leroy “Bud” Russ, 60, of Delaware, OH died surrounded by family at the Arbors of Delaware on Saturday, September 29, 2018.  Gerald was born to the late Jerry Russ and Patricia McGreevy Russ on June 9, 1958.

In addition to his father, Gerald Russ was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Russ and his brother-in-law Hal Whitehurst.

Born in Toledo, Gerald grew up in the Oak Harbor community and graduated from Oak Harbor High School.  Mr. Russ was a proud veteran of the US Army where he served as a medic. He was a funny, caring, devoted father who always enjoyed spending time with his daughters.  In his free time Gerald could be found rooting for the Cleveland Indians or watching science-fiction shows on TV.  Gerald was also a very big rock and roll fan with a special affinity for Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet band.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his daughters: Jennifer (Andrea) Russ of Worthington, OH and Shannon ( Mike) Mares of Port Clinton, OH, his mother: Patricia Russ of Delaware, OH;  his grandchildren: Alyssa, Chelsea, and Trevor Mares of Port Clinton, OH  his sisters: Sheryl Whitehurst of Powell, OH and Deborah (Jesse) Portales of Oak Harbor, OH.

A celebration of life for Gerald Russ will take place at a later date to be determined Oak Harbor, OH.  The family invites friends to refer to the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center website for more detailed information when a date is chosen.

The family encourages those who wish to memorialize Gerald Russ with a charitable donation to please contribute to their local mental health agency.
