Gerald F. Weaver, 67, of Mesa, Arizona died Monday, November 22, 2004 at his home.

He was born in Mount Gilead, Ohio on January 25, 1937, the son of the late Lawrence E. Weaver and Edith M. (Terry) Weaver who survives in Mount Gilead. He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in 1955 and received his B.S. in Education from Ohio Northern University. One of his first jobs was as a butcher for the family Weaver’s I.G.A. store in Mount Gilead. Gerald served as a teacher and coach for the Cardington Lincoln and Clear Fork School systems until retiring. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and had been a Boy Scout Troup Leader. He enjoyed woodworking, showing horses, and flying small planes.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons Perry Weaver of Sturgeon, Missouri, and Timothy (Wendy) Weaver of Dalton, Michigan; a daughter Heidi Weaver of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three step-sons Greg Warner, Gary Warner and Brian Warner all of Mansfield, Ohio; a step-daughter Sandy Warner of Green Queen Creek, Arizona; two grandchildren Samantha and Cory; step-grandchildren; two brothers Donald (Jackie) Weaver of Mount Gilead, Ohio and Larry (Sharon) Weaver of Kenton, Ohio; a sister Charlotte (Richard) West of Mount Gilead, Ohio; nieces and nephews.

His wife Gloria F. (Gielow) Weaver preceded him in death.

The Rev. Bruce Hartley will conduct a memorial service celebrating his life in the Upper Room at Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Gilead on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 11 a.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church. Arrangements are in care of the Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead.
