Gerald Arden “Mac” Mckee, age 82, of Glenn Road, Mount Vernon, went to be with his Lord Saturday February 23, 2002. He died at home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 17, 1919 on a farm in Batemantown, Ohio the son of the late James and Mildred (Miller) Mc Kee. Mr. Mc Kee was a member and past trustee of Brandon United Methodist Church. He worked as a farmer and owner of Baxter – Mc Kee Insurance. He was a 1936 graduate of Fredericktown High School. Mr. Mc Kee served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II where he served as a flight instructor and flew the B-25 aircraft. He also served as flight instructor for Wynkoop Airfield. Mr. McKee was a member of the Marion Airstream Club and Good Sam R.V. Club.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Jocelyn (Baxter) Mc Kee, a son Robert (Lou Ann) Mc Kee of Rocky River, OH, a daughter, Sheryl (Antonius) Badoux of Gahanna, OH, three grandchildren, Megan, Matt and Derrick Mc Kee, two brothers Wendell (Billie) Mc Kee of Lake Havasu, AZ, Merrill (Jean) Mc Kee of Zapata, TX and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM

with the Rev. Doug Sweet and Rev. Paul Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery.
