George K. Marshall

George K. Marshall, age 90, of Delaware died Sunday March 9, 2003 at Grady Memorial Hospital.

He was born on August 13, 1912 in Blackstone, MA to the late Hilton Albert and Annie Moran Marshall. A graduate of the US Naval Academy, he moved to Delaware in 1997 from Virginia Beach, VA.

George worked 43 years in the engineer field, from 1933 to 1958 with General Electric and then 1958 until 1976 with Chrysler Corp., retiring in 1976. While at General Electric he had worked on the Manhattan Project and also held 2 U.S. Patients. He enjoyed golfing, was a little league coach and an author of several books and numerous poems.

Survived by his sons: Michael and his wife Jamie Marshall of Delaware with whom he resided, George K. Marshall Jr. and his wife Dodie of Devon, PA, 7 Grandchildren: George C., Priscilla M., Michael P., Emelie K., John G., Caitlin R., Kellen R. Marshall.

Proceded in death by his wife of 45 years: Emelie P. (Potvin) Marshall, who died in 1980, 2 Sisters: Gladys Scott and Thelma Ann Barnell.

Friends may call Wednesday 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 a.m., Fr. Kevin Kavanagh officiating. Graveside services will follow Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Calvary Cemetery near Kettering, Ohio.
