George C. “Charlie” Van Aman, age 83, of Newark Rd., Mt. Vernon, died Tuesday, October 22, 2002 at the Ohio State University Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1919 in Mt. Vernon, son to the late Charles and Jeanne (Gueulette) Van Aman. Charlie was employed at P.P.G. here in Mt. Vernon , where he retired in 1976, as a glass cutter, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1945.

He is survived by his wife Mildred (Kile) Van Aman, two sons, George C. (Jane) Van Aman of Findlay, Dr. Michael E. (Linda) Van Aman of Columbus, grandchildren, George C. (Angela) Van Aman III of Savanna, Traci Van Aman of Cincinnati, Gregory (Rechelle) Van Aman of Findlay, Dr. Scott (Debbie) Van Aman of Columbus, Christy Van Aman of Columbus, and a sister Carolyn (Carl) Crumrine of Maine.

There will be no calling hours. The Family will observe a Memorial Service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, assisted the family with arrangements.
