George A. Wilson, 76, formerly of Lorain, Ohio and Cottageville, West Virginia went to be with the Lord Monday morning, December 7, 2009 at his home in Mount Gilead after a long illness.

He was born on August 23, 1933 in Gassaway, West Virginia the son of the late Joy Faye (Davis) Wilson.

George served his country in the United States Army Reserves.

On August 11, 1952 he married Bernice Frame. They have been married for 57 years.

He worked for many years as a supervisor at the steel mill in Lorain.

George was a Master Mason and an avid deer hunter.

He was a member of the Baptist Church in Ripley and attended the Chester Baptist Church in Chesterville.

He will be missed by his wife, Bernice; their children George Anderson (Sharon) Wilson Jr. of Lorain, Connie (Lynn) Scarbrough of Fredericktown, and Patricia (George) Clevenger of Cottageville, West Virginia; grandchildren Jason Clevenger, Misty (Mike) Milton, Shona (Robert) Searls, Janel Scarbrough, Tara (Christopher) Hartley, and Kyle Scarbrough; great grandchildren Cheyan and Riley Milton, Madison and Kegan Searls, Bryce Hartley, and Winter and Cody Clevenger; siblings Bertha “Sissy” Wilson of Louisiana, Junior Johnson of Lorain, and John Henry Wilson of Texas.

A memorial service will take place on Friday December 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Frametown Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Chris Skeen of the Ravenswood Free Will Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Chester Baptist Church in Fredericktown, Ohio.
