George A. Babcock

George A. Babcock, 68, of 626 Cherry Street, Galion, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at home.
Born February 11, 1936 in Sanford, Maine, he was the son of the late Ernest Babcock and Eva Rowe Babcock. He married Marlys F. Jauert Babcock on April 28, 1957 who survives.
He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Galion; American Legion Scarbrough Post #243, Galion; International Association of Machinists. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved animals and having coffee with his close friends at Taylor’s. He was a journeyman welder and worked at the former Peabody Galion.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lisa Babcock of Galion; a daughter and son-in-law, Shawna and Jim Bechtel of Oak Harbor; four grandchildren, Kurtis and Isaac Babcock, Lucas and Kathleen Bechtel; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Ernest Babcock of Maine, William and Gloria Babcock of Springfield, Mass., Richard and Anne Babcock of Ashley, John and Marilyn Babcock of Maine, Raymond and Lilliann Babcock of Maine, Gerald and Cynthia Babcock of Galion; two sisters, Margaret Bennett and Eva Mae Smith of Maine.
and a sister-in-law, Mary Babcock of Florida.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Babcock.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2004 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10: 00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Timothy Keeler officiating. Interment will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
