Geneva J. Trimble

Geneva J. Trimble, age 85 of Delaware passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at Grady Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born on November 18, 1945 in Newcomerstown to the late Elmer and Carmella (King) Myers. Geneva served in the US Army and Army Reserves as a practical nurse, retiring at the rank of Sergeant First Class after 26 combined years of service to Country. She served during the Korean Conflict and Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Geneva also worked as an assembler for Ranco. She was a member of St. Mary Church, Delaware AMVETS, and VFW.  The consummate helper, she was a passionate volunteer. An avid fan of the OSU Buckeye Football Team, she enjoyed a good cup of coffee and doting on her grandchildren. Both feisty and tenacious, she was strong willed.

Know as “Sarg” as she as proud of her military career, treasured her family, and will be remembered for her caring ways.

She is survived by her children: Geralyn (Gary) Colvin of Uhrichsville, Curtis Trimble of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tim Trimble of Delaware, and Michelle Trimble (Sharon Wisner) of Ashville, NC, 7 grandchildren: Christopher (Amber), Nickolas (Jessica), Staci Colvin, Matthew, Megan, Michael Trimble, Isabelle Klarman, 4 great-grandchildren: Easton, Abigail, Isaiah, Reagan, brother Vic Myers of Seattle, WA, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by son Terry in 1963, former husband Carroll “Shorty” Trimble, siblings: Walter, Elmer Jr., Paul, Glen, Floyd, and Waneta Myers.

A service in celebration of her life will be announced for later this summer. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center in Delaware.
