Geneva J. McChesney

July 31, 1929 ‒ March 21, 2016

Tucson, Arizona

TUCSON, AZ: On March 21st 2016, Geneva J. McChesney begins a new chapter with Our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ at the age of 86. The Southern Ohio McChesney matriarch will now reassemble with friends and family that she has missed immensely. Among those people will be the people she has so patiently been waiting to see, her loving husband, Robert G. McChesney and daughter Connie McCartney.

Prior to her new journey Geneva was asked by her messenger, “Are you ready to meet your Father in Heaven, Jesus Christ?” She impassively replied, “I’ve been ready for a long time.”  Her family was paramount in her life.  If anyone were to have ever had a conversation with Geneva at some point then they knew it would somehow lead into something about her family.

Geneva was born July 31, 1929 during The Great Depression.  She was the first daughter of her 12 siblings, a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and a Great-Great Grandmother. She relished Country Music, Cooking and Baking, Cleaning, Story-Telling & Boasting about every aspect of Her Family.

It was the “Little Things” in life she cherished the most, yet “The Most Important.” “Just a Lil’ ol’ Country Girl that grew up on a farm in Southern Ohio,” was always her self-characterization. Nonetheless, Geneva J. McChesney was influential in the live’s of any & all that she has known. Sis, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma & Great-Great Grandma we all love, miss and give thanks to you. Please continue to watch over us as you have always done.

Geneva J. McChesney is survived by: Children Donald R. McChesney, Kenneth Blaine McChesney, 6 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren & 1 Great-Great Grandchild.

Funeral services at the graveside in Lexington Cemetery will be Friday March 25, 2016 at 4 pm.  The Rev. Terry Brown will officiate.  The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the McChesney family.
