Geary L. Foster, 67, of Sunbury passed away Saturday morning, May 3, 2014 at Kobacker House surrounded by his family.

He was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on May 13, 1946, to the late William D and Eleanor (Bradford) Foster. Geary graduated from Maysville High School in1964 after which he moved to Columbus and joined the work force at Columbus and Southern Electric Company (currently AEP). He weathered the elements at AEP as a devoted substation serviceman, working tirelessly for 38 years.

Always punctual and on time, Geary “Fos” was an outdoorsman at heart. He was forever engaged in extracurricular outdoor activities such as mowing, gardening, hunting or fishing, always accompanied by a good cigar. He had a passion for classic cars and tooling around in his work shed. And some of his cherished memories were of vacations to Destin, Florida, the Bahamas and his yearly week long fishing trips with the guys.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 39 years Carol (Schneider), children Chad (Trina) Foster of Cleveland, TN, Holly (Mark) Foster Fasone of Lebanon, TN, step-sons Brian and Brent Ries both of Columbus, grandchildren Chase Foster, Giana and Dominic Fasone, Riley and Addison Ries, brother and sister-in-law Rev Tom and Joan Fowler of Columbus, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr, Delaware, where services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with his brother-in-law Rev. Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
