Gary Moreton, age 43, passed away at Cleveland Clinic, Wednesday, April 13, 2011, following a seven month battle with cancer.
Gary was born February 6, 1968, in Kidderminster, England. He was raised by his Auntie Eunice who survives in England and his late Uncle Bob.
Gary graduated from Stourport-on-Severn High School, England. He came to America when he was 18 years old.
On December 22, 1995, he married Michelle Snader Moreton who survives in Galion with their children Chenee Daren Holt, Colin Moreton, Connor Moreton, and Carleigh Moreton. Although his time was limited, he adored his grandchildren Grayden and Zoe Holt.
Gary worked for Farmerboy Agriculture as a project manager. He was a very dedicated and devoted worker and loved what he did. His bosses and coworkers were exceptional to him.
Gary was the President of North Central United Soccer Club. He helped begin and build this organization, which became successful for the youth of our area. Soccer was the love of Gary’s life and he constantly was sharing his knowledge and skills of the game with others. Everyone who knew anything about Gary, knew he supported Manchester United. He was dedicated to his children and loved them with all his heart. He was an amazing father.
In addition to his wife, children, and aunt, he is survived by his in-laws, Robert and Sharon Snader; sister, Gail Humbrey, brother, Michael Moreton; brother, Richard Sara Moreton, and very close and special sister, Ang Joel Fetter; sister-in-law, Cheryl late Jerry Fetter, Tammie Chris Cochran; nieces, Haley Cochran, Gayle Fetter, Abbey Fetter; nephews, Evan Cochran; special cousin, Lisa Cliff Marshall, and countless life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Moreton.
Calling hours for family and friends will he held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Free Methodist Church, 683 Portland Way North in Galion. Funeral services for Gary Moreton will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2011, at the church. Pastor Joel Fetter and Pastor Paul Walter will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be David Lamport, Mike Dzanko, Mace McCullough, Doug Sinclair, Andy Mortimer, Carey Corona, Jaime Fisher, and John Thebeault. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connor and Carleigh Moreton for their education fund, in care of Richardson-Davis Funeral Home, 218 S. Market Street, Galion, Ohio 44833.
