Gary A. “Hoe” Seevers, 61, of 4784 Millsboro Road, Galion, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 after a brief illness.

Born Oct. 25, 1945 in Galion, he was the son of Ray and Meg Dabney Seevers of Galion. He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Tackett Seevers, whom he married May 22, 1976.

He was a graduate of Galion High School in 1964 and served with the Army National Guard of Ohio, 1487th Transportation Co. in Mansfield.

He was a life long resident of Galion and was a self employed floor covering installer for over 30 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 303, American Legion Scarbrough Post 243, and Elks Lodge 1191, all in Galion. He liked camping and fishing at Lake Erie, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Matthew A. Seevers of Galion and John M. and Meghan Seevers of Mansfield; one daughter, Stacey Hamel of Clarkston, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Owin Seevers and Kayla Seevers and an unborn grandchild due in July; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Jeff and Maryanne Seevers of Longview, Wash., Sid and Sue Seevers of Bucyrus, Doug and Donna Seevers of Hendersonville, N.C. and Rob Seevers of St. Cloud, Fla.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lana and Richard Crissinger of Redding, Calif., Paula and Bob Faulds of Port Clinton and Sheila and Dick Schieber of Crestline; eight brothers- in-law and sisters-in-law, Marie and Phil McCalla, Jackie and Buddy Schubert and Terry Tackett, all of Galion, Mike and Donna Tackett of San Antonio and Floyd Tackett of Tenn.; his Mother-in-law, Evelyn Beach of Galion and many nieces and nephews.

Private Family Services will be held at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel J. Buehrer officiating.
