Fredrick R. Ward, age 61 of Port Orange, Florida and formerly of Delaware passed away at home Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

He was born on March 17, 1954 in Dayton to the late Russell and Pauline (Davenport) Ward. A graduate of Buckeye Valley High School in 1972, he then served in the US Navy. He worked as a truck driver before becoming disabled and then worked with the Alpha Group.

Fred was a former member of the AMVets and the Delaware Eagles. He was a fan of sports, especially football and baseball; he also collected hats and enjoyed playing cards.

He treasured time spent with family and at the beach.

Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings Jean (Gary) Kimberlin of Clayton, Dot Wilcher of Seymour, IN, Mary Buza of Cardington, William (Linda) Ward of Malta and Shirley Ward of Port Orange, FL who was also his care provider, numerous nieces and nephews and 3 daughters.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister Judy Browning.

The family will receive friends on Monday January 4, 2016 from 11:00 am until time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware with Earl David Wilcher officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the Delaware Veterans Association.

The Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center of Delaware is honored to serve this veteran and his family.
