Fredrick “Pete” Peter Godfredson

February 11, 1936 ‒ November 29, 2017

Mansfield, Ohio

Fredrick “Pete” Peter Godfredson deeply loved his four children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, but he also missed his beloved wife of 50 years Betty.  On November 29, 2017 he left our world to reunite with Betty.

Pete lived his life with vigor and determinedness. Born in Minnesota on February 11, 1936, he was the only son of Fred and Rose and had two older sisters Rosemarie and Evelyn. After serving in the US Army, Pete returned to Minnesota where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education.

As his family grew his career did as well. The farm boy worked his way from schoolteacher to an executive position with a large corporation. In addition to his family he loved his pets (especially Stella), gardening, coffee and donuts and feeding all the birds and animals that would visit his home.

Pete is greatly missed by his children Julie (Mike) Kisic, Holly (Eddy) Edwards, Peder (Deneen) Godfredson, Rebecca (John) Mounts, as well as his grandchildren Jessica, Tia, Mary, Abigail, Maxon, Maya, Hunter and Sara. He always made an impression on everyone he met; all who knew him loved him.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. with an hour of prior of calling. Burial will take place at a later date in Minnesota.

Contributions in Pete’s memory may be made to a local charity of choice or a charity to support local veterans.
