MANSFIELD: Freda Eileen Craft, loving mother and devoted grandmother, has now joined the love of her life, husband George Craft, as she passed away Saturday evening, March 7, 2015 in OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, surrounded by those whom she loved. She was 78.

Born Freda Eileen Rabstijnek February 12, 1937 to parents Vincent & Marie (Hajek) Rabstijnek, she was raised in East Meadow, Long Island, NY.

Freda was a fantastic cook. She served as a caterer to the World’s Fair in New York and she and George loved to cook – everything from scratch. Her chicken fricassee, lemon chicken and peach dumplings were family favorites.

She was a loving mother to George (Debbie) Craft of New Hampshire, Vince (Starr) Craft of California, and Elaine (Kevin) Oak of Mansfield; a devoted grandmother to Jenny Oak, Holly (Christian) Reis, Kevin M. Oak, Sean Oak, George (Erin) Craft, Suzanne Craft and great-grandmother to Cody and Francesca.

She will always be remembered for her love of her family, her gourmet cooking, and her kind heart.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.
