Floyd Patton “Pat” Lester, age 77, of Fredericktown passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the Knox Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 25, 1942 in Cedar Bluff, Virginia to the late Emory and Cassie (Lawson) Lester.  Pat worked in the coal mines with his dad early in his working career.  He worked at many places and became very good at laying cement which turned into his own business, Lester’s Cement Flooring, from which he retired after many years of service.

He is survived by his wife, of over 57 years, Alice J. Lester; his daughter Roxanne (Kris Robinson) Wolford; his son Douglas (Ginger) Lester; grandchildren, Brandy (Clint) Parker, Jessica Lester, Jenna (Matthew)Boudinot, Justine Lester; great grandchildren, Cassie, Cash, Cirk, Clinton, Gracie, Hayley, Kinsley, Addison, Billy and Preston; his uncle Harmon Lester; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his canine companion Shadow.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his brother Don “Pinky” Lester; his sister Jan Strouse; and his son-in-law George Wolford.

Friends may call on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 6-8PM and on Tuesday from 11-12PM at the Christ the King Community Church.  The service will begin on Tuesday at 12PM with Pastor Lucian Baker officiating.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat’s name may be made to Christ the King Community Church, 15598 McClelland Rd., Fredericktown, Ohio 43019.  Or to a charity of one’s choice.

He truly was a gentle giant always had a kind way and the nicest smile our families go back a longways some fun memories .He was a hard working man with a great craftsmanship they are hard to find nowadays with his work ethic.
