JOHNSVILLE: Flossie Heichel, 72, of Johnsville, died Saturday afternoon, October 1, 2005 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a short illness.
She was born June 13, 1933 in Grundy, Virginia, to Earl and Nancy (Street) Meadows, and moved to Ohio at the age of 18.
A homemaker, Flossie enjoyed her time spent in her flower and vegetable gardens, and was adept with a needle and thread on sewing and quilting projects.
She was blessed with a kind and giving heart ~ she’d do about anything for you. And her sense of humor could make even a complete stranger burst into laughter.
Flossie is survived by her husband Alden Ray Heichel, Jr., whom she married March 2, 1957; son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Claudia Heichel of Sunbury; daughter Nancy Heichel of Johnsville; daughter and son-in-law Donna and Joseph Goulding of Johnsville; son Timmy Heichel of Johnsville; four grandchildren Cloudette Heichel, Daniel Goulding, Matthew Goulding and Amanda Goulding; a great grandson Daniel “D.J.” Goulding, II; her sister Faye Frontz of Lexington; two brothers-in-law Kenneth Heichel of Madison and Jack Heichel of Mansfield; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Jeremy Heichel.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 4, 2005 from 7-9 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 pm in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Leroy Bumpus will officiate.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society may be made at the funeral home.
