MANSFIELD: Faireen Little Query, 87, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 in MedCentral Hospital following a short illness.
She was born March 23, 1923 to James and Nettie (Cisco) Little, was graduated from Lucas High School with the class of 1941, and has been an area resident most of her life.
Faireen worked in the dietary department of MedCentral Hospital, retiring in 1989.
Faireen was a very faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, retiring as financial secretary, a position she served for over forty years.
She was an excellent cook and baker, making delicious chocolate nut bars and fabulous pies. She loved to knit, crochet, and assemble jigsaw puzzles. Family was very important to Faireen. Every Tuesday night was spent playing her favorite card game Quiddler with her daughter and son-in-law and grandchildren and every Wednesday you could always find Faireen and her sister Louise at Derrenberger’s eating the bean soup and cornbread.
Faireen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carole Sue and Gary Bobst of Mansfield; her son and daughter-in-law Michael lee and Johanna Query of Pittstown, NJ; grandchildren and their spouses Heather and Steve Mundy, Scott and Gretchen Bobst, Michele and Brian Giess, Christopher and Jennie Bobst, Jillian Query, Hanna Query and Clay Query; great grandchildren Kennedy Cline, Reagan and Stevie Mundy; brothers and sisters and their spouses Louise Ramsey of Mansfield, James “Jay” and June Little of Lucas, Gene and Margie Little and Rose and Richard Scott of Mansfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate of 64 years, William “Bill” Query on July 1, 2006; three infant grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Lois Little; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Josephine and Howard Remy; a brother-in-law Marshal Ramsey; a niece Geles Lewis and a nephew Howard Remy, Jr.
Friends may call Monday, July 26, 2010 from 4 – 7 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 am. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lucas, with The Rev. Dr. David Aune officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
