LEXINGTON: F. Dolores Gardner, 81, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Ohio Health MedCentral surrounded by her family.

She was born June 20, 1934 to parents Vernard & Jean A. (Corson) Stedman in Hartland, ME. Dolores graduated from Hartland Academy with the class of 1952.

On September 1, 1952, she married Philip L. Gardner and they spent 63 wonderful years together.

Dolores was a homemaker who loved taking care of the house and being there for her family. Dolores enjoyed keeping a flower garden as well as knitting hats and quilting. But above all, Dolores was the best at giving hugs.

She is survived by her loving husband Philip L. Gardner of Lexington; children April Huber of Bucyrus, Lee (Kim) Gardner of Lexington and Steve (Vanessa) Gardner of Elgin, SC; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother Arland Stedman of Hartland, ME; sister Shirley Whittemore of Skowhegan, ME; sister-in-law Janet Stedman of Hartland, ME and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Eric Gardner and Michael Gardner; son-in-law Gary Huber; sister Charlene (Lewie) Bartley; brother Vaughn Stedman; sister-in-law Adele Stedman and brother-in-law Henry Whittemore.

The Gardner family will receive friends Friday, February 5, 2016 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service honoring Dolores’ life will begin immediately at 2 p.m. Pastor Andrew Vallance will officiate. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
