Everett Rae Baker

Everett Rae Baker, age 94, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday June 4, 2003 at the Country Club Center Nursing Home in Mount Vernon following a brief illness. He was born September 9, 1908 near Woodsfield to Daniel C. and Beulah (Hobbs) Baker. Mr. Baker had been the owner of the Poultry Store in Columbus, a hatchery at Jackson Center, Ohio and had managed the Farm Bureau in Lima before moving to Knox County in 1955 where he maintained a farm for many years.
He was a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Farm Bureau and the School Board in Auglaze County.
Surviving are two sons Glen F. (Vicky) Baker of Westerville and Clark (Sue) Baker of Fredericktown, his daughter Carolyn (Charles) Lewis of Enon, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and his brother Herbert Baker of Ravenna. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Florence Grace Baker, his son Donald Baker and a sister Gladys Mellott.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown with Rev. Larry Draper officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours before the funeral service.
