Everett L. Southall, age 59, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on November 22, 1961, the son of Ronald and Dawn (Moir) Southall.  Everett was employed with Vermac Industries in Mount Vernon.

Everett was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed everything nature had to offer.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and searching for ginseng.  He had an extensive collection of rocks as he liked to pick out different patterns or colors.  Everett was a member of the NRA.

He is survived by his wife Tammy (Sinnett) Southall whom he married on August 16, 2005, his father, his children, Jeremy (Dr. Sarah) Becker of Visalia, California, Jacob Southall of Mount Vernon, Bobby (Haley) Ferenbaugh of Danville and Danielle (Ryan) Zornes of Mansfield, five grandchildren, two brothers, William Foote of Danville, and Ronald (Beverly) Foote of Gambier.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Debra Hissong.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.  A graveside service will be held on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. in Newcastle Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Everett’s name may be made to Kindred Hospice.

  • It is with deep sadness that I learned of Everett’s passing. Although I have not seen him for many years, he was always so kind to me. I thought a lot of him. He stood up for me and what was right when no one else did. I am sad that we lost touch over the years but I know he touched the lives of everyone who knew him. To his wife, although we did not know each other I pray for you today and the days ahead. I know that he will be missed.

  • Condolences to my family . It sucks that I really didn’t get to know him better. At least now he is no long in pain. He’s probably up there running threw the wood as we speak, or just kicking back with his mom Dawn my grandmother , his sister Debbie my Aunt , an Amanda my mother.
