Delaware, Ohio

Evelyn M. Adams, age 80 of Delaware passed away at home, September 3, 2013 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Sunbury on October 18, 1932 to the Grover and Clara (Shannon) Keys. Evelyn graduated from Elm Valley High School in 1951. Throughout her younger years she was a member of the Kilbourne United Methodist Church.

In 1952 she married her husband of 60 years Charles W. Adams. Together they raised a family, worked their family farm and shared in its bounty and at times heartache.

She enjoyed the outside and keeping the farm in perfect appearance. One never with idle hands, she was at her best when she was busy at work. She also participated in the Delaware County Fair in several events and in 1997 was the Ohio State Fair Corn Husking Champion.

Evelyn treasured time with her family, teaching her grandchildren the skills of homemaking and farming, just as she did her children.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband Charles, children David (Karen) Adams of Ashley, Jeffery (Deborah) Adams of Aurora, Colorado, Rhonda (Rob) Penrod of Delaware, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Also preceded in death by brothers Leonard and Cliff Keys, sisters Virgie Fisher, Mary Martin, Grace Hines, Kathryn Sark.
