Evelyn G. (Turner) Linder, age 100, of Mount Gilead, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, September 9, 2018, at the Morrow County Hospital.

She was born on June 12, 1918, in Franklin Township Morrow County, to the late Benjamin J. and Neva (Ewers) Turner. Evelyn graduated from Chesterville High School.

Evelyn loved serving the community. Over the years, Evelyn worked at the State Liquor Agency, North Electric, and Morrow County OSU Extension Office. She was an active volunteer at the Morrow County Extended Care facility of the Hospital. She also was leader in the Girls Scout’s Club and 4-H Club. For many years, Evelyn was also a member of First Baptist Church.

Some of Evelyn’s favorite past times included entertaining guest, baking pies, and playing cards (mostly euchre).

She will be dearly missed by her children: Sandy (Roger) Shepard of Decatur, AL , Connie (John) LeClair of Willard, Larry (Debi) Levering of Mount Gilead, Dennis (Eileen) Levering of Mount Gilead; 10 grandchildren: Stephanie (Andrew) Greene, Susan (James) England, Nicole (Jeremy) Schlotterer, Ashley LeClair, Brian (Cheryl) Levering, Lindsay (Benjamin) Colegrove, Lori Levering (Ryan Hoffmaster), Lisa (Tim) Fuller, and Matt Levering; and 18 great grandchildren plus one on the way.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: George L. Levering and Loren Linder; granddaughter, Sherry Shepard; and a brother, Carl Turner.

Her family will greet friends from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, September13, 2018, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel. (67 N. Main St., Mt. Gilead, OH 43338). Service honoring her life will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Stephan Bloomfield officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
