EVANGELINE “VANGIE” CARSON, AGE 84, OF CARSON RD. MOUNT VERNON, DIED MAY 12, 2002, AT THE MORNING VIEW CARE CENTER IN CENTERBURG. SHE WAS BORN MARCH 16, 1918, IN ALLIANCE, OHIO, THE DAUGHTER OF HARRY AND GOLDIE (DAVIS) WILLIAMS. MOST OF HER ADULT LIFE HAD BEEN SPENT ON THE FAMILY FARM NEAR AMITY WHERE RAISING HER CHILDREN AND THE FARM LIFE WERE HER GREATEST LOVES. SHE HAD BEEN EMPLOYED AS A NURSES AIDE AT THE MARTIN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND HAD ATTENDED THE AMITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH.

SHE IS SURVIVED BY 3 DAUGHTERS KAREN (TERRY) TYSON OF MOUNT VERNON, LANA SUE PATTON OF CEDAR HILL, TEXAS AND JACKIE MULHOLLAND OF MOUNT VERNON, 3 SONS DEL (LU) CARSON OF CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, DARRELL (MICKIE) CARSON AND DAN CARSON BOTH OF MOUNT VERNON, 15 GRANDCHILDREN AND 5 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBAND GENE CARSON.

FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 5 PM UNTIL 7 PM TUESDAY AT THE FLOWERS-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2 PM WEDNESDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND INTERMENT WILL FOLLOW IN THE AMITY CEMETERY.
